Carnegie Museum of Art: Teenie Harris Collection

There is a stash of photographs of Duke Ellington from the collection of photographer Teenie Harris presently posted to the website of the Carnegie Museum of Art. Here is the gallery - a veritable time capsule of a vanished era. A small number of the photographs feature Ellington as a face or a name only on an advertising poster or a photograph in the window of a restaurant. These evocative shots conjure Duke's pervasive influence on mid-20th Century American culture and are included here also.
