Did it happen in Monterey?

An interesting item is up for auction at present on a certain virtual clearing house: Ree-to-Reel Master Tape 1/4" 7.5 i.p/s Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Art Pepper.

Item description from the seller

REEL TO REEL MASTER TAPE 1/4" 7.5 IPS 2 Track (1/2 Track)

Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Art Pepper, Bob Cooper and many other great artists.

Jazz In Monterey

1/4" tape comes on a 10.5" metal Scotch reel with a box.

See photos for condition detail.

This is labelled Jazz In Monterey so I'm wondering if this is a live recording, not sure though.

This is an estate sale find. I have many more that are similarly labelled and I believe these to be duplicates  of the original master but I am not 100% sure. Some of the information sheets on the boxes with reels are stamped as such but not all, which is why I'm led to believe these may be duplicates.

I have no way to test the tape.

Selling AS-IS so be sure you are okay with all conditions before bidding.

Here are the rest of the photographs the vendor includes:

Further research is required for the provenance of these particular recordings. A cursory look at Wikipedia (not usually my first stop for matters Ellington) reveals that Ellington appeared at The Monterey Jazz Festival in 1960, 1961, 1964, 1966 and 1970. Some live recordings by Ellington from this festival over the years, notably two CDs-worth from his inaugural appearance in 1960 .
Assuming the Ellington compositions listed above are performed by the Orchestra itself, I have been unable to identify, so far, from which of the festival appearances these performances are drawn.

To add further confusion, this item appears to be the 'master tape' for commercial(?)reel-to-reel tape release entitled It Happen (Jazz At) Monterey on the 'Tape-Mates label (TMS-142), produced for American Tape Duplicators.

The notes on the Discogs entry read:

3 Hour long play music series.
Produced by American Tape Duplicators, 5727 West Jefferson Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, 90016.
Side I clocks in at 81 minutes 40 seconds and side II clocks in at 80 minutes 18 seconds. So it is not strcitly true as advertised on the front and reel sticker. It is about 18 minutes shy of 3 hours.

The actual artists and albums on this release are as follows:
Tracks A1-A9: Virgil Gonsalves - Jazz at Monterey
http://www.discogs.com/Virgil-Gonsalves-Jazz-At-Monterey-/master/751807

Tracks A10-A13: Howard Rumsey's Lighthouse All Star Big Band - Jazz Rolls Royce (Minus Prelude To The Queen and Coop Salutes The "Co-op")
http://www.discogs.com/Howard-Rumseys-Lighthouse-All-Star-Big-Band-Jazz-Rolls-Royce/master/308355

£70.00 postage alone precludes any bidding here. Before the auction closes, I will delve further into the mystery of the Monterey appearances to try to establish the provenance of this particular  set of recordings. Happy bidding!
