Jazzy Poppins

Based on the novel Mary Poppins by P L  Travers, the Walt Disney film and the album Duke Ellington plays Mary Poppins, Laurent Mignard Duke Orchestra offers an original reading of Mary Poppins in a musical tale crossed by the genius of 'Ellington.

Perched on the roofs, 15 chimney sweep jazzmen and their conductor meet a very upset nanny who regrets not embodying the magic of the governess of her childhood. Jeanne Banks relives the moments she lived with Mary Poppins: Father George Banks absorbed by his bank, the writing of a classified ad to find a new governess, the arrival of Mary, the first magical moments, the walk in the countryside, the learning of an unpronounceable word, the giggles at Uncle Albert, the old woman with the birds, the song and the ballet of the chimney sweeps, the kite... until the epilogue by which Jeanne recognizes that believing in your dreams can transform reality. Our lives are not written!
